Came across this article, Town Declines Cash from Calendar Girls that talks about Carmel's dilapidated firehouse that was in need of $2.2 million in repairs. Some local ladies, notably between the ages of 51 and 84, thought it would be a hoot to strip down to partial nudity and pose for a racy benefit calendar.
And then, when they went to present nearly $30,000 to the firehouse, they declined to accept it because they said that it opens them up to all kinds of actions like sexual harassment lawsuits and hostile environment lawsuits.
Its a first for me, sorry, you're money, generated via a benefit, isn't good enough to repair our firehouse with. Damn, that's cold!
