Dial Up Baby Update

First off, thanks to all of you for your thoughts and well wishes during this most unusual ordeal we're currently in the middle of.

The news is that there's little news.

P's water was ruptured this morning after the cervix thinning Cervidil last night. After the water being broken, P was set up on an IV drip to introduce pitocin into her system.

Oh yes, wait a moment and let's rewind to the water breaking moment. It was pretty unusual to watch water gush from my wife's nether regions, tinged with reds and yellows and other things that I didn't really need to see. P reported that it eased up the pressure in her insides considerably even though its made her more able to feel the contractions as they roll through.

But right now, things are stable, the contractions aren't regular or intense yet. So we're hanging out watching TV, chatting and just sort of chilling out. P's mom, sister and one of her best friends are here so there's lots of chatter and, hopefully, its helping her to move through these early stages.

So here I am, on a dial up connection on my old Pismo (its soooo slow but still a good machine). Updates might be sporadic but I'm working with what we've got. Things are good but I'm pretty sure the night will bring its share of bumps and surprises.

Maybe I'll take some offline time to get some pics ready to upload. Or maybe I'll just go and lay down on the lounger to catch up on some sleep time since we got woken up three times over the course of last night to make sure everything was all groovy.

And I do have to say that the staff at Dominican is awesome. Truly wonderful and caring people who enjoy their jobs and are very good at it too. I just wish the stupid shower thing worked better (its one of those handheld units with the wall mount but it slides all the way down to the bottom of the rail everytime).

And that's all for now, folks.
