The other day on the beach, a friend of mine was relating an incident that occured outside her house during the previous week.
My friend happens to live on one of the busier corners in our neighborhood and there is a near constant flow of traffic in cars and on foot as people walk down to the cliff's edge to check out Seabright and Main Beaches as well as the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the rivermouth.
Anyway, she was sitting out on her lawn talking with one of her friends and was approached by three younger folks just down in town visiting for the day. Its not all that unusual for people to ask to use bathrooms or for some water or something fairly innocuous and that's what she thought they were about to ask for.
Instead, one of them asks in a pretty loud and brazen voice, "Hey, do have any pot to sell?"
She replied that she didn't and that they should probably move on but one of them persisted and asked again, louder.
It goes without saying that she basically told them to fuck off but I'm just amazed at how openly stupid these people are. You don't know her, she doesn't know you and yet you're asking her to commit a crime? That's just messed up and stupid.
Another wonderfully infuriating stupid tourist trick are the asswipes who come down, spend all day at the beach, have a great time and then, on their way, see fit to literally dump all of their trash in the street before they go. I've seen them get in the car and then just dump trash out before going, neverminding the fact that there are trashcans a short distance away. They just dump and go. Not just regular garbage either, dirty diapers, beer cans, bottles (which some very thoughtfully smash before abandoning) and condoms. So nice to walk out to your car in the morning through a pile of some assholes trash they left on your street.
So, what's the worst thing you've watched a tourist do?
