Check out what the guys over at AJ Design have done to convert what should be in a museum or a landfill.
Yeah, its now a PC box but damn is it a fast one! And it looks pretty cool too.
I'm having a hard time waiting for tomorrow which might sound strange because tomorrow is Monday and who looks forward to Mondays? I don't usually but tomorrow is a special Monday that will see the delivery unto me of a nice new, high speed, sexy cool Powerbook and iPod. Oh yeah, you know I got the 'Book with the backlit keyboard, huge hard drive, Airport Extreme (802.11g speed Apple branded wireless connect) and lots and lots more. And the 'Pod? Yeah, it'll be nice to bump up to a 20 gig model with new buttons, new functionality (like marking songs while undocked) and that pretty new dock that holds up the display so nicely.
Which means that my old Pismo will be converted into a wireless file server for the time being (even though it will restrict my download speeds across the wireless connection to 802.11b spec at a mere 11 Mbps). But that's fine because the Clie's card is a B spec and I like being able to use it in the house.
By the way, in my search for info last night, I came across The Road Warrior archives of hot modding a Pismo to a G4 running at 1 gig. That's substantially faster than the G3 400 mine's poking along at right now. But the new 'Book is almost here already so no modding for me, its all about hooking up the two and passing on all the good parts to the machine!
More Powerbook fun over at PBZone.
