Morford's Morning Fix is fixated on the recent declaration of open season for gay marriage in San Francisco. The article, Now, That's San Francisco Nothing like a few thousand gay marriage ceremonies to reignite your urban pride talks about how these are 5,200 people in love with each other and they are seizing the opportunity to bond themselves to each other.
Much to the red puffy faced chagrin of uptight Republican pricks everywhere who need a bottle of viagra to get a boner to jab their Xanax'ed and Prozac infused spouses. Seriously, the last two mornings of news have had educated fools on bleating about marriage being only for a man and a woman and not this unholy union of gays. They all have the same stupid and lame and useless little argument that its not natural. Hey folks, marriage isn't natural, its a man made construct.
Anyway, I love the fact that Gavin Newsom, the new mayor of San Francisco, is allowing this to happen and continue until the courts force him to stop. He's already making big points in my book for being progressive and a good leader. That and he's got fabulous hair. Seriously, he makes Jimmy Johnson's bulletproof coif look like a rat's nest.
This is a good thing, if only for the fact that there are masses of conservatives having conniptions because of it. Die off and make the world a better place for the rest of us.
And yeah, I take pride in the area that I live in for its progressivity and ability to buck the national stupidity. Go SF! Go California!
