Deals, Deals and More Deals, How the Bro Deal Makes the World Go 'Round
I think things need to be a bit more upbeat around the Poison Water Cooler and so I'll impart a few cool tricks that I've learned or heard about to save some cash.

The first is super easy but only works where we live but who knows, try it where you live and see if it works there. If you have to pay for your washing then try loading various combinations of quarters into the machine instead of just slamming 5 or 6 quarters in there and having at it. P learned this trick a while ago and now, instead of paying $1.25 a load to wash clothes, we're getting them washed for $.75 and that does translate into some savings over the course of ten loads.

At our particular group of apartments, from left to right, load 1 and 2, skip 3 and 4 and load 5 and badda bing, you get the special 40% off your load of clothes special deal.

A good spot online for coupons and deals that work (sadly, the buy a deli sandwich and get a half dozen your choice bagels at Noah's has expired but was an excellent deal while it ran) is Freebies for Moms although they don't check for momhood so its all cool.

Looking for more expensive stuff and need a deal? Check out the Home Theatre Forum Deal Page for some excellent price breaks on some stuff you want. Quite a lot that you don't need or want but check it regularly and you'll come across some nice deals. I got more than a $100 off my Elph S400 through that page along with some other stuff.

Another online deal I found while surfing for hotels for the family to shack up in when they're out here next month. I've never been to the L8 Buffet but they've got a Summer Special! running.
To get 10% off for travelers just mention traveler's special when ordering. Special refreshing herbal drinks are available. All you can eat sushi, Chinese, salad bar and much more. Excludes other discounts.

Or, if you're thinking you might want to get a deal on some locally produced wine then belly up. Though I think all you need to do is mention you saw the add on the Santa Cruz County web page I'm not positive.
Bargetto Winery (www.bargetto.com) 831.475.2258
15% Discount on Wine Purchases
Come visit our historic winery in Soquel and take advantage of a 15% discount on wine purchases (cannot be combined with any other offer). Enjoy tasting award-winning Santa Cruz Mountain Wines in our beautiful creekside courtyard. Open daily, tours available by appointment.

Need some outdoor gear or clothing? Check out Sierra Trading Post for some pretty excellent deals. Not all the time but enough to make it worth the time to check in on.

In the Bay Area (or any of the numerous but much smaller affiliate communities) and need something, anything? Check out Craigslist for a great guide, marketplace and job site that is still cool, still free and still not overly well known but well known enough to be a thriving community destination. For a curious slice of life, check out the free, barter and wanted listings to see what people want or need.

And lastly, for the Mac Head out there who hasn't stumbled across DealMac, check it out for Mac specific or Mac compatible specials, deals, bargains and give-a-ways.
