So I got the email from Google that they really are serious and FTP publishing is going to be killed off this coming weekend. And, since I'll be gone this coming weekend I thought I'd tackle the migration now.
I've been around the internet block a few times, I've built websites, I've redirected URLs and lots of other geeky things. But I'd never had to directly deal with CNAME entries and the process was a bit daunting, at first. But I followed along as best I could and, if this post comes through properly, I think it has actually come to pass that Intellectual Poison will be hosted on Blogger's servers moving forward.
Unless, of course, there's a major snafu and the whole works falls apart. In which case I'll likely be headed over to Wordpress since my host has an automatic Wordpress installation widget/wizard and I rather like automatic stuff, when it works.
Anyway, let's see if this posts properly (it should also publish significantly faster too).

Some Program Notes
For anyone interested, I've started (yet) another new blog. This one is called The Kyani Dream and is focused on our Kyani business, it is not all about selling though there is some encouragement to try out the products. It is more about sharing information, knowledge, health issues, thoughts about network marketing and our growing success which will lead to posts about our free vacations and, eventually, our free Cadillac Escalade Hybrid when we get there.
If you have any interest in learning about network marketing or the opportunities presented by Kyani then I strongly encourage you to check out the new blog and let me know what you think or what kind of posts you'd be most interested in reading.
Also, if you are in need of some miniature awesomeness then you should check out Plastic Life. Very, very well done miniature photography. I'd love to give some of this stuff a shot.
In other news, I took the Learning Styles Inventory Test after seeing at Where's My Plan and found out that I am...
And, finally, check out some pretty awesome photos of nature's fury in full force.
That's all for now, I've got some other things I'm working on but they aren't ready for primetime just yet.

What Type of Blog is This?
According to the Typealyzer, my blog is an ESTP (Extraverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving) - The Doers, like Amy's. Lots more on ESTP's here.
ESTP - The Doers
The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.
The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.
And, for bonus points (which they immediately lose for not pluralizing show), they provide a map of my brain bits that were dominant during writing. There is a strong emphasis on thinking, practical and sensing, less on feeling. Which, of course, jibes with what I think I approach most blogging with. What does your blog say about your type?
For bonus fun, here are some types for the blogs in the My Peeps list:
Change in Plans - ESFP - The Performers
The Mint 400 - ISTP - The Mechanics
What Would Jack Do - ISTP - The Mechanics
Brokedown Palace - ESTP - The Doers
Nutsy Fagan - ESFP - The Performers
The Gallery of the Absurd - ESTP - The Doers
Rick's Journal - ESTP - The Doers
Confessions of a Libertine - ISTJ - The Duty Fulfillers
Midvale School for Gifted Alumni - No report, blog is protected from public viewing
Chaos 6 Windblossom - ESFP - The Performers

See How Well Your Car Crashes
This is a little creepy but also pretty neat.
Consumer Reports will show you what happens when your car crashes. Choose a make, model and year and then they'll load up a video crash test for your viewing discomfort.
Our Ford Escape does okay in the front offset impact test but scores a rather scary Poor in the side impact test (on the model without side impact airbags) although the rear passenger compartment fairs well.
And then the video wraps up with an ad to subscribe to Consumer Reports for more info. Not a bad argument really.
How does your car score?
Does it make you want to go get a tank?

Strength Check
So I've come up with a pretty interesting way to get an idea of my overall strength, to create a baseline and then be able to get back and check it from time to time. And I am inviting anyone who reads this and wants to try it to take part.
The benchmark consists of two basic exercises that are done to failure, that is, you do as many of them as you possibly can. If you are working with free weights then you absolutely must have a spotter for the bench press or you can, quite literally, kill yourself. Also, make sure to thoroughly warm up before doing any max-effort exercises.
How many times can you bench press your body weight?
How many times can you leg press your body weight?
Test it now and then again in six months.
Since I've been sick for a little while, I'm going to set my benchmark day for halfway through February. And, because I like to make bets against myself, I'm going to say that I'll be able to bench press my body weight, which is 170 pounds, 25 times before failure. Leg presses, I think I'll pretty safely be able to hit 40 or 50 presses.
Want to play? Leave a comment and let's get it on!
Note, this isn't a test of fitness, its a test of strength.
