Yes, Intellectual Poison has been suckling mightily at the teat that is national politics and the race for the presidency.
But the real battle royale right now is alot less dire (unless you live in Boston!).
So I thought I'd collect up the blogs I know from each side of the AL/NL baseball divide.
Easy is all Cards, all the time. We've got a wager going on the outcome of the series too!
e, is all Boston, he'd likely be excommunicated by the family if he started cheering for the Cards. In fact, I know he would. I can get away with it since I'm 3500 miles away even though I'm all Red Sox as well.
Amelia is going with the Red Sox because she's an American League kind of lady. Though I like to think she'd cheer against the Yankees if they'd made it.
Shawn's on the Red Sox side as well. In fact, he's a Sox fan in spite of John Kerry being a Sox fan as well (I'll give you one guess who's not getting his vote come November).
George Bush is, apparently, a big Cards fan which is kind of strange since he used to own the Texas Rangers but we all know their chances of getting to the post season, much less the World Series, are pretty well zero.
Who else? I'm not sure but I think I'll shimmy out on a limb and make some guesses.
Ryan is probably rooting for the Cards just to be contrary.
David has to be a Red Sox fan if he's a fan at all. I'm not sure.
Leblanc, I'm going to go with the Red Sox for her for no other reason than I'd like to think she's a Red Sox fan.
The guys at the Mint, I'm going to guess that they are mostly going for the Cards only because they're National League fans (poor guys, not only do they go for the Cubs but now they get to cheer for Dusty Baker as well, bummer!).
Captain Normal is cheering for the Red Sox, if for no other reason than Bush is cheering for the Cards.
Rori is a Red Sox gal, I just know it.
Blown Fuse is likely not especially aligned one way or the other but, if push came to shove, Tiffany'd probably deck you.
Lily wouldn't care, so long as the party she was cheering at had a good supply of fresh mint, limes, sugar, rum and soda water or ginger ale. But I'd bet she's a Sox fan as well.
Heather at In No Particular Order probably isn't overly concerned with the series but I think I could get her cheering for the Red Sox with only a little bit of goading (and the proper application of beverages).
Northstar at The People's Republic of Seabrook has probably stopped paying attention since his Astros got bounced last week.
Jen's a Sox fan.
Helen's not paying attention, she's got more important things to worry about. Like the utter lack of a hockey season this year (and I bet she looks adorable in her Dallas Stars jersey too!).
I asked Gudy but as he and his wife are brand new parents, he kept nodding off mid-sentence and I gave up to let him sleep for a few moments.
Carlene is probably a Sox fan but she's an equal opportunity booty-shaker. If the party's good, she's a fan. I think, hard to tell when she's absent so often these days.
And Guiness? I'm not sure about Guiness, I'd lean towards Sox fan but I've nothing to back that up with.
So? How'd I do on pegging baseball allegiances? Set me straight. Add more bodies you know are for the Sox or Cards.
[Update: Rick would like to be put in the "Couldn't give a shit" section. Sounds like a pissed off Twins fan to me. Doesn't he know that cheering for the Red Sox is his patriotic duty? Oh well.]
