This week is the kitchen floor and I'm going to post pics of the new floor probably Friday but next week is the yard again.
And the main thing we want to accomplish is to corral the sloping space again, turn it back into flat lawn area. So I am learning how to Build a Block Retaining Wall. It won't be that hard, just tiring hauling the heavy blocks down. But we might be able to get away with just one wall on the outer edge of the property to keep the hill from destroying the next fence when I put that in.
The wall is also useful because the blocks can be used on straights and curves and we'll probably build up a set of stairs to get from street level up to the yard.
My fantasy project is to have part of the driveway built up to create another level parking space instead of the angled one. But I don't know how easy a sell that will be to the lovely wife.
I'm also starting to move forward on the window in the office. We need to get building permits before doing it but that shouldn't be too hard. Then its a question of prepping the space, cutting out the wall and setting the window in place.
Not enough time to get it all done but I've got weekends ready to donate to housing projects until we move out.
I also want to rent a roto-tiller and destroy the lawn as it is, grind in some anti-crab grass fertilizer and maybe even throw down a new truck load of clean dirt. That way I could actually do a little lawn levelling then, maybe even a single layer terrace to even the sucker out more.
And, eventually, I'll be able to camp out on my lawn. About a week before we sell the place and move to somewhere new that needs work.
