In stark contrast to the shrill bleating impotent fury that is posted in comments on places like A Small Victory, I've been partaking in a civil discussion about differing political stances with the gents over at The Mint. Savage Henry has begun to list reasons that he is planning on voting for Bush in November. The link above is to his first installment where he lists reasons he could vote against Bush, he posted this way to head off the inevitable short sighted criticisms.
The level of debate isn't William F. Buckley but its interesting, educational and I like to think that both sides are teaching the other a thing or two.
There's no reason that political discussions have to degenerate into shout fests and the guys at the Mint are proof of it.
I also feel lots of sympathy for them because they are long, long suffering Cubs fans. We'll see how Nomah's impact is there now that he's away from Boston where he had apparently turned into team poison because of the A-Rod crap and his own inherent negativity. But he's a power hitting stud who'll be an asset to the Cubs by giving Sammy "Gorill-la-la-la-la" Sosa some protection ahead of him.
