Damn, First Rick James and Now Julia Child

Well this is shaping up to be a pretty shitty month for famous people dying.

I just saw on the news that Julia Child passed away this morning at a ripe old 96 91 (sorry, earlier reports had said 96, I swear it!). She made cooking fun, inspired a funny Saturday Night Live skit and enjoyed the heck out of her life.

She will be missed but luckily there are syndicated shows and guest appearances to rebroadcast from now until the end of the world.

But another sad day and damned if she didn't die on Friday the 13th! Scary!

On a side note, my mother arrives this afternoon and we're very much looking forward to seeing her and introducing her, finally, to her newest grandson.

And to all the folks in Florida, hunker down, folks. Its gonna get breezy for a little while.
