The first question comes from Jeff......
1. What shape would your island be?
Funny question really but I like the idea of a horseshoe shaped island with a huge protected bay. Some small but decent sized hills to give a better vantage point, several places where the rocky base of the island extends out over the water to afford a good jumping point, lots of different kinds of trees with lots of different kinds of fruit supporting a varied and lush animal ecosystem. And a good supply of freshwater, maybe from a stream coming from a natural water cache up in the hills.
And now a running with it I shall go....
2. Would you be more at home on a deserted island or in a crowded city?
Island, no question. And I could probably relax easily. City's are good for somethings but give me isolation any day.
3. How would you keep yourself entertained on a deserted island?
I've always been good at keeping myself from getting bored. Isometric exercises, juggling, whittling, hunting for food, swimming, building a better shelter, construcing a coconut telegraph. Oh yes, and rampant masturbation.
4. Who would you miss most if you were on a deserted island?
Rush Limbaugh or Carrottop, unless I had a big enough gun with a big enough scope to hit them both.
Oh wait, um, I'd miss my wife the most since we do everything together.
5. Who would you least like to be stuck on a deserted island with?
Well, if it were Rush or Carrottop then I'd just beat them to death one night while they slept so I'm not worried about them. How about Anna Nicole Smith? Or the Aflac duck or the Enzyte guy.
6. What would be the best thing about being on a deserted island?
No lines at Starbucks! No, how about no pants? Actually the thought of living life in an improvised loin cloth/diaper sounds just fine by me.
7. What one thing would you love to take with you?
For practicality's sake, a fully loaded Leatherman or somesuch wunder tool, the kind that have an axe built in as well as the magnifying glass, pliers, knives, nail file, tweezers and can opener for that inevitable chest of canned food that has to wash up on the beach.
Practicality aside, what would I take? Pens, pencils and paper, lots of them. Enough to write dozens of books and make lots of drawings.
That's my Cheese and I'm sticking to it.
