Utterly Fucking Stupid Marketing
Anyone watching any amount of tv these days has probably seen the ad. It starts with people saying, its not your hair, your car, your shoes, your whatever that people judge you by. Its your watch. Not the fact that you're a nice person, not the fact that you provide a home for your family, not the fact that you're a good father, good husband or a good son, not the fact that you vollunteer your time to Big Brothers/Big Sisters, not the fact that material possessions really don't mean a goddamned thing. People judge you by your watch.

Um gee, really? What about people like me that own a nice watch or two but I never wear them because I can't stand to have one arm weighing more than the other and the stupid things catch on everything?

Does the ad want to imply that I'm worthless without a five thousand dollar watch on my arm? I think they do. And to them I say, FUCK OFF! No one gives a damn about watches, they're lame stupid status symbols that do the same thing if they cost a dollar or fifteen thousand. People who spend a ton of money on watches are badly in need of some ego stroking to soothe their raging need for attention.

Watches are irrelevant to me, they're a waste of money. Especially the big honking attention getter monsters that low self esteem knobs have to adorn themselves with because they're shallow enough to think that a watch will make up for being a self absorbed prick or someone who's rude to waitstaff or someone who thinks women should be seen and not heard.

Any fool who buys into the whole a-man-is-only-as-good-as-his-watch bullshit is probably the same kind of idiot who will surprise his wife with a new Lexus for Christmas and never even consider the $500 a month payments for the next five years. And you know what? They deserve their bankruptcy, they deserve whatever economic troubles they bring upon themselves. And anyone that wants to judge me by my watch or lack of one isn't someone who's opinion I give the first damn about. Judge me by my bare wrist and I'll judge you by your empty skull.
