Fun with Automatic Blogging
From a post over on Metafilter I found the DrunkMenWorkHere site that allows you to create an instant and automated blog based on preferences that you choose including topics, regularity of updates, templates and more. The system uses those preferences to pull news from a series of sites and writes randomly generated posts, it even adds random links to the blog as well.

A few fields entered, a click or two here and there, a fresh template selected and badda bing, I present to you, Instant Intellectual Poison! I've had mine up for about a half day and its already generating a bunch of posts. The one drawback of the system does suck, don't forget your login and password because they have no instrument to recover it for you (and the reason I know this? I forgot my login and password, DOH!).

A comment in the thread on Metafilter I found R.Robot, one of the longest running automated blogs that writes better than I do and that kind of depresses me. But then, I don't see it generating its own content, it has to use the news and other sites to get rolling whereas my posts are almost always a product of my own twisted mind. But still.
