A Numerologist's Wet Dream Day
Three, three, oh three. Or 3/3/03. Either way its looked at, today is a numerologically significant day. Until one factors in the fact that our calendar is arbitrary, based on nothing more than a loose understanding of the earth rotating in space and also rotating around the sun, slightly pulled off that rotation by our moon and what not.
But no big deal. I was kind of into 9/9/81 waaaaay back when. It was one of the first days in my new school in New England where my family had moved over the summer. It was also two days before my 12th birthday, a whopping 21 years ago now. And my math teacher at the time made a very big deal out of it because of the whole exponential numberness of it all. She would, later that year, sit at her desk quietly crying because some of the kids in my class were such tremendous fuckheads. But the date still sticks with me, as do other ones.
Like a wedding I worked last year during my professional hiatus (thanks economic downturn!). The wedding was the first same sex wedding I've ever worked which is unusual since I've worked well in excess of a hundred weddings over the years, either as a caterer, wait staff or bartender. The date was 02/02/02 which was cool and they had some other aspects of the wedding that I remembered because they were unusual and cool. One that Paula and I are borrowing for our own reception, the enigma of the goldfish swimming around a lit candle. Pictures will have to demonstrate what I mean but its a really nice effect, even if it does freak the fish out some.
By the way, the see through Japanese panty skirts? Yeah, they're here, just scroll down a little ways and you'll find them. Or click here (Japanese X-Ray Panty Skirt Pics) (or here for the archive) to get right to the link. Lots of traffic looking for these silly things. I'm curious to see what they look like in person. And there is still a part of me that thinks its some hoax cooked up by some stoned college students. I'd like to see more pics to make sure.
There's so much on my plate right now that I'm not sure whether I should write one monster post or a bunch of smaller ones. I think I'll do that as I can get more work done in between. And its Monday so there's plenty of work to be doing, oh yeah!
Housing note, we are on a short watch for the week as we get ready to move into the new house. Got the lease signed this weekend, got the keys to get our fridge in (and see what the upstairs looks like). It is going to be a really excellent place for us to shack up and I'm really looking forward to getting our lives reassembled there. Paula's been awesome about having her life bound up in the dining room for the last week for that'll be ending soon. And we've already got a new house mate ready to move in the day we move out so that's even better and cooler. And yes, pics will be posted soon. But who wants to see an empty shell of a house? Why not wait until we've had a chance to get some belongings in there and it looks like a house?
