Screw Politics, Its Baby Pic and Update Time!

I am coming ever closer to another moratorium on political blogging, it just puts me in a shitty mood and I'm tired of both sides shouting the same garbage at each.

So let's reload with a little innocence and purity, eh?

Instead of posting the pics waaay down in the post, let's get them up front. Here are some of the latest pictures of my son: Graydon on his Boppy, more Graydon Boppy Action, yet more Graydon on the Boppy and, finally, Nande Licks Graydon. And one older pic of my pup when she was still tiny and amazingly cute, Nande Pup super cute.

And then a little post about what's been happening as he grows and changes.

So I was just chatting with a co-worker about my sweet little baby boy and it occurred to me that it was time to pass along some news here.

Graydon's about to hit nine weeks on Saturday. Nine whole weeks of existing outside the womb. From water to air, from inside to outside, from wee feeble and completely helpless to able to hold his neck and just mostly helpless. From grinning while farting or poo'ing to grinning while giggling and cooing. To delighted chortles and occasional outright laughter.

He is a big eater but is also a slow eater at times. He's playful, a little too playful sometimes when he needs to be eating. He can rip farts that sound like they should be coming from kids ten times his age.

He is amazing in more ways than I could possibly write. The times when he falls asleep in my arms, going from a tense crying ball of wiggling baby to a sack of potatoes with a pie hole in it, but the most adorable sack of potatoes you've ever seen. He interacts with strangers if he's awake when we're out and about but most of the time he sacks pretty hard during the drive and he's just a doll in a car seat to most folks.

Friday was the last day of my Paid Family Leave and I started working for real again on Monday. I was both looking forward to it (and, of course, the full sized paychecks again) and dreading the thought of not getting to spend all day with my family. So far this week has been tough on me and I'm amazed how whatever mildly to majorly foul mood I have before I get home just slides right off me after just a couple of minutes of playing with my son or Nande.

Everyday is a new challenge for him, he learns something new, becomes capable of a new action or just does something that is so unspeakably cute that P and I can literally just sit and stare at him. He is, without a doubt, the best thing to ever happen to me. I can't wait to get off work to go home and see my boy, my wife and my pup!
