Rally Baby Helps Giants Pull Out the Win!

That's right folks, get yourself a rally baby, much more powerful than the Angel's rally monkey, the rally baby can allow your team to come back from a four or five run deficit JUST. LIKE. THAT!

My son got to go his first baseball game yesterday at the tender (and juicy) age of nine weeks on the nose. Luckily we had seats that were in the shade or we would have likely burst into flames because San Francisco was hellfire and damnation hot yesterday.

It was a sweat dribbling down the backs of your legs hot day up in the city. But we were fine, we had the club level to step into for some air conditioning, bathroom breaks and all the food and Giants paraphenalia you could shake a credit card at.

I was worried that Felipe Alou was going to sit Bonds since he normally does that for a day game after a night game. But we're in the home stretch on the season and the Giants are still a little ways behind the Dodgers (boo, Dodgers suck!) and a half game back in the wild card standings.

The boy had a good time, he obviously didn't give a damn about the ball game and was a bit nonplussed when Marquis Grissom donged a grand slam home run to get the rally jumpstarted in a hurry. In fact, Graydon didn't really care for much of the crazy loud cheering, especially when he was trying to catch some Zzzz's on my chest or P's.

And, sure enough, the Giants scored four in the six and then four more in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead just in time for Dustin Hermanson to come and close the game out. Actually, yesterday was the Dustan (Mohr) and Dustin (Hermanson) show. Good action all the way around.

The good fun part is that we had set up a play date for the hound dog over with some friends. Nande got to play all day with her pal, out in the woods, on the deck, in the hose, in the house and back again. By the time we got back to pick her up she was tired and getting ready for the big crash. And crash she did, as soon as we got in the truck and started moving, she was sprawled out, cold. We got home, she ate and then flopped. When I went to bed, I brought her upstairs, without any arguments from her, and she crashed again. She had just so much fun it was excellent! I'm just sorry she gave one of friends a bloody nose by demonstrating just how rock hard the top of her head is. We made it up to her by letting her play with the baby for a while.

It was a really nice Saturday for all of us. Graydon got his first official Giants baseball cap. P got an SF Giants tank top and I finally got my PFL payments! Yee-fuckin'-ha!

And today is going to be just as hot as yesterday. We might go up to the beach and play a game of volleyball but will have to go soon before the sand gets into the 130 or 140s or above where it can actually cause blisters on your feet. And all of Santa Cruz is inundated with tourists so there's not a parking spot in the county right now.
