Enjoy Your Infamy, Jackass

I was watching the baseball highlights the other day and they showed a pretty bizarre sequence of events following a foul ball getting sent into the stands.

A shaved headed jackass two rows back basically wipes out a four or five year old kid, ends up on his back underneath his and his mother's seats, basically assaulted this little kid on national TV and then has the pure balls to stand up and display the ball he beat up a kid for, proudly and without any idea that he's really an incredibly douchebag. His date or girlfriend or whatever she was was ashamed to be seen with him and tried to get as far from his as possible. The entire stadium started chanting "Give it to the boy" or something like that. He didn't, he sat there like a prick for a while and then left the game early (likely with a police escort as I'm sure some fans wanted to pound his smug mug into jelly).

So, now the news agencies are picking up on it. The baseball team, I think it was the Rangers or the Cardinals, made this little kid's year. Reggie Sanders of the St. Louis Cardinals gave him a bat, some balls and a heck of a lot of other stuff as well as putting him on tv. And the dickhead? Yeah, he's being shown again and again for the utterly contemptible asswipe he is.

Hey, guy who beats up children for foul balls at baseball games? I hope someone knocks some damned sense into your thick skull because assault for a $3 souvenir is a bad trade off. Especially when you factor in the fact that an entire nation has seen your true colors. You suck and you are an asshole.

PS You're ugly too and you probably smell like bad cheese.

[Update: The Dallas Morning News identified him as Matt Starr, a married, 28-year-old landscaper and former youth minister. Which I'm taking to mean that the kid got off easy, I mean, he could have been sexually molested as Starr dove for the ball instead of being physically molested. And now that his name is known, I hope people start to send him hate mail to let him know what a reprehensible piece of shit he is.]
