More Jessica Lynch Madness
There's an awful lot of action over on this MeFi Thread about Jessica Lynch's newest public statement, that she's pissed off at the government for lying about her capture, torture and eventual rescue as a means to prop up this incredibly illegal war of aggression against Iraq.

She earned some points in my book by speaking out but is still a pawn, though a soon to be happily rich pawn. And soon she and her new hubby can eat all the Taco Bell they want, ain't love grand?

My take is that the whole thing was a farce, its all marketing now, the "shocking" revelation about her being raped to the torture. Whatever, its all bull, in my mind. There were some member of her unit that were captured and were really hurt but they weren't anywhere near as cute (or white) so they don't get the world's adoration for being a poor soldier.

I hate the fact that the government is spoon feeding this obvious tripe to people and expecting them to swallow it as the truth. Its crap, its blown beyond any semblance of its original story. And now there's no way to know truth from lie, so, to be safe, I'm filing it all under L for lies.
