Quotes, Jokes and Pokes
Inspiration first, derision comes later.
The aim of an argument or discussion should not be victory, but progress.- Joseph Joubert. An appropriate quote to send over to the folks at Slashdot, who are furiously barbing my Linux analyst right now over a survey of Linux developers.
Basically, most of their "findings" are being applied to a narrowly focused survey and, surprise, surprise, they're not fitting with what they already know. Hey, its interesting stuff to read through at least. But I do love the fact that there are Windows trolls on Slashdot's message boards as well. Trolls who serve no other purpose but to try and trumpet how wonderful Microsoft is. I wonder if they're paid promoters or just misguided fools.

Joke
Billy and Tommy went down for breakfast and, as they say down, their mother asked them what they wanted for breakfast.
Billy replies, "I'll have some fucking pancakes."
His mother smacks him in the back of the head and sends him upstairs to his room.
She then turns to her other son, Tommy, and says, "Now think carefully before you answer. What would you like for breakfast, Tommy?"
Tommy thinks for a moment and then says, "Well, I sure as hell don't want any fucking pancakes."

Or, my all time favorite short joke.
What's the square root of 69?
Ate something.

Pokes
I could just sit and take jabs at public figures for the grin of it but I've got a plate ful of tasty lunch stuff in front of me. Anyone stopping by Santa Cruz should stop by El Palomar for some tacos, some chips and salsa and few hand spun margaritas by my pal, Sam.

So I guess no pokes. But I'm sure I'll get my Irish dander up before the end of the day. The work crew is bonding this evening with a brace of Guinesses (Guinea?) after work. Should prove interesting.

Alterna-Blog Sightings
I was reading Gudy's post about making teenagers blush and giggle on the train and clicked over to Laughing Boy as Gudy referenced him earlier in the post. Laughing Boy has a great satirical picture on his site that I'm soooo tempted to snark for Intellectual Poison but cannot (stupid morality and ethical code). But check it out as Laughing Boy has just surfaced on my radar and looks like he might be joining the ranks of the daily reads pretty soon.

Update: Laughing Boy has been added. And I found this story on his site as well: Japanese Girls Playing Sex Roulette with as many partners as they can find. Laughing Boy also writes an eloquent post about life in Japan (and includes some good personal info about a pal of his for flava). Really good stuff.
