Fruitful Conference Time
Aside from being up and rolling far too early today was a good day to be up at the show. The keynote went very well and our research director did a very good job of relaying the company line along with some valuable information about the state of the wireless marketplace.
We also got to see some demos of the newest phones from Nokia, new PDA's from Palm (including the highly desired Clie UX50, which was cool and I'll have to write up a bit more about later).
We also spent some time working the exhibit floor, chatting up the company and making some sales leads which was good because we had Paul, our new sales guy there as well to learn the ropes and hear the game being played.
And I got some goodies too! A t-shirt, some demo disks, a cool BEA light up keychain (fun fact to know about me? I'm a freak for flashlights, just ask P) and a few other small things. Oh yeah, the green bounce ball with the red led's in it is quite nice. I also got a chance to drive around a remote control H2 Hummer, which is as close as I'll ever come to owning one. It was fun to play with and bash into Paul. They also had a full dual racing game with seats, shifters and pedals and everything that was a good time to play around on.
All in all it was a very worthwhile morning but I can feel the earliness of the wake up on me now.
Oh yeah, Starfucks makes a Caramel Macchiato that is just too damned good tasting. It was like drinking a caramel with some coffee flavor added in. Awesome and it totally kickstarted the morning. But now the caffiene is gone and I'm just slogging.
I'm hoping to get an hour or so of writing in on the novel tonight as I need to keep denting the 50,000 word trash can that we're all aspiring to hit. I'll get in alot more time over the weekend I hope.
Quick Props to Blogger
Just wanted to say thanks to the folks at Blogger. I got my free hoodie the other day and like it alot. My sole wish would be that it was a hundred percent cotton instead of the blend but oh well, all cotton sweatshirts are the exception these days rather than the rule. Its still nice and I'm a happy camper. Just in time too because it has taken a very, very chilly turn out here the last few days. Could winter be on the way? That would suck!
