A Question to No One in Particular
This one's been on my mind for a little while and I'm just unsure if there is a good way to deal with it.

Here's the scenario:
Some way or another you find yourself engaged in conversation with someone, you can know them or they can be a stranger, it doesn't really matter all that much.
Now what happens when you happen to notice that they've got a veritable bush of nasal hair coming out of their nose? Not just a stray hair or two, dozens of them, all clamoring for daylight or something. Its almost like they had a mustache but snorted almost all of it up their nose.

So how in the hell are you supposed to continue to hold a conversation once you've noticed the obvious lack of even the most basic grooming?

And, if its a pal, then how do you, or should you, let them know that they need to get some tweezer work in or get one of those Sharper Image high speed rotary dealies?

Just a question I've had for a little while.

Other I'm-A-New-Uncle News
Got off the phone with my sister a little while ago. Got to listen to the newest member of my family show off his crying powers and got to hear maybe a little more than I needed to know about the birth process. But I also learned that there are some distinct advantages to having a slightly premature baby. The first is funny because, when asked about a possible name for his soon to be little brother, Andrew offered up "3,2,1 Blastoff" as his choice for a name. Andrew's just 3 so cut him some slack. But he was really very close to how it all happened. A four pound four ounce baby is still a sizable package but my sister said he sort of "shot" out of her without much pushing or coaxing.

And just like that, a new nephew for me, a new grandson for my mom, a new cousin for Zola (who's suggestion for a name was excellent, he went with "Andrew Andrew") and a new son for my sister and brother-in-law. Pretty nifty concept when you really stop to think about it for a moment.

Yesterday morning, no baby yet. Yesterday night, a brand new life begun.
That's crazy! And its also one of those soul warming concepts. Like nothing in the world can be so terrible if precious little baby boys and girls can come into the world. And he is precious, this as-yet unnamed little boy. But I'm sure he'll have several nicknames by the end of the day and will likely have a name by the end of the week. I wouldn't be surprised at all if one of his names is reflective of our recently dearly departed dad (who I happen to share my middle name with so there would be a connection to the little sprout).

We'll see but its amazing how much happier the world becomes when I think about that little tiny boy laying in my sister's arms in the hospital in Maine.

I can't wait to get some pics of the little guy and post them for the whole world to see.
