Ain't Hypocrisy a Bitch?

Key Evangelical Quits Amid Gay Sex Claim which is ironic since he's leading the charge against same-sex marriage in Colorado but maybe he didn't want to marry his gay prostitutes, maybe he just wanted to have sex with them. But wait a second, isn't sex outside of the marriage contract a sin to the Evangelicals? Probably.

Said the accused, "I am voluntarily stepping aside from leadership so that the overseer process can be allowed to proceed with integrity," Haggard said in a written statement. "I hope to be able to discuss this matter in more detail at a later date."

Hope to? Are you kidding, dude? You've been accused of buying gay sex and you're stepping aside instead of fighting it? Guilty is as guilty does. Haggard is right, tired and worn out.

And isn't it convenient that Mark Foley's "alcohol" rehabilitation will keep him out of the public eye a little longer? Just long enough to not be a blight for Republicans to have to cope with for the elections next week.

Um yeah, a gay pedophilic Senator and a high-ranking anti-gay Evangelical. Who's next? Oh yeah, and the Senator who demonstrates his Republican family values by abusing his wife. Nice! I'll take hypocritical leaders for $500, Alex.

I saw it coined on MeFi the other day, its called the Foley-Condit Rule, don't get caught with a live boy or a dead girl.

It almost feels like they are throwing the election. Almost. But then they seize on one lame statement by John Kerry, a decorated veteran, about the war in Iraq and try to spin the election on that one perceived insult. The real insult is the utter lack of ethics in the GOP leadership and the deep, deep moral crevasse.

And this isn't even mentioning the utterly fucking terrible job they've done with damned near everything they've tried. Iraq, the economy, the environment, stem cell research, equal rights, civil rights, habeas corpus, torture, secret CIA prisons, the list goes on and on.
