I would just like to go on the record as saying that last night's Packers/Panthers game was almost one of the best games I've seen in a long, long time. After looking hapless for most of the first half Brett Favre and the Packers started to click in the second half and really came quite close to tying or winning the game.
And I was pulling for Favre to do it. He's a stand up guy who I could sit down and drink a beer with and shoot the shit. He's an incredibly hard working guy who's been in the NFL and playing at the top of his game despite some pretty astonishing and depressing events in his life.
And he nearly pulled it out last night to get the Packers' first win of the season. He also looked pretty damned superb doing it with precision passes, standing tough in the pocket, scrambling for a first down and being the all-around stud he is. Its a shame his team's so broken down right now. He deserves some wins.
