Good News from the Family
Well its a few weeks early but all's well that ends well and I guess the end of the beginning is as good a place as any to start.

I'm an uncle again.

My sister gave birth to a healthy, if a bit wee, baby boy yesterday evening. She had been having some complications in the pregnancy and I guess they induced labor last night and she gave birth. Bam, just like that.

And, of course, my mother couldn't be any happier about the whole thing. Oh wait, yeah she could, she could have had a new grand daughter. But I think she'll happily go with healthy baby boy. And a healthy daughter, my sister. I don't know all the details yet but there was some risk involved in this whole process for her. Which makes sense as she'll be hitting 40 in October.

But go Su! And go Dr. Dave! I will call as soon as I can.

Lucky It Happened Last Night
Its a good thing that Su had her baby last night as we'll be incommunicado for the weekend. And now I can even point to where we'll be.

The website's not overly informative or deep but it does give some sense of what its like there.

Riverside Campground and Cabins which is a subsite of Big Sur Camping. It will be a good weekend either way, I'm planning on getting a bunch of reading time and it'll be excellent to get out of town, spend some time with the others that are going and basically de-stress for a little while. And no, it won't hurt at all that we'll be in one of the most beautiful parts of the whole world either. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of camera time in. I just hope I get my upgraded compact flash digital film before we go or I'll have to limit myself and that sucks.
