Polite but Unutterably Stupid Spam Scam

I know, everyone rants about spam on their blog, blah, blah, blah. Why should this blog be any different?

Well, I'm not ranting actually. That's different for me.

I just wanted to bring attention a rather stupid new spam that's been making the rounds recently. No, its not the one where they try to trick you into thinking you just filled out a mortgage application that needs some more info (um duh, people aren't stupid enough to forget that they just filled out a mortgage app). No, its not the ubiquitous sales pitch for a nameless internet pharmacy peddling V1agra or any of its other 600 trillion ways of being spelled. Or the sunglasses morons who insult people with their sender name of NunyaBusinessServices.

Nope, I'm writing about the polite little spams with subject lines like: Please Fill Out and Return or Please Return Survey. Something along those lines. Basically, I read them like this.

"Hi, I'm a lazy spammer who's just too lazy to actually try to steal your data and would like it you would just fill out this simple little questionaire that will effectively give me your identity. And, because I didn't steal it, its not really identity theft, now is it?
Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Your Lazy Spammer"

I don't know what they really say inside but come on now. Who's really stupid enough to do the spammer's work for them? I hope nobody. I hope there's not some idiot in Nebraska who gets these emails and, like a good little worker bee, doesn't question the request, he just fulfills it.

I appreciate the politeness. I just really find the gall a little over the top.
