Karmic Justice?

Blair Book Publisher Belly Up

I'd like to think their atrociously bad idea to publish the memoirs of an admitted fraud in the hopes of capitalizing on his fleeting infamy had something major to do with the liquidation of New Millenium.

Jayson Blair, for those who've already forgotten, is a disgraced ex-journalist who fabricated stories for the New York Times, ended several editors careers in shame (and caused the publisher or editor in chief to blame the readers for not calling the paper on his lies, um yeah, good idea).

Anyway, he wrote a memoir of his story of being a liar, a cheat, a drug addict and basically a fraud. Strangely, people weren't all that interested in reading his story, perhaps it should have been sold as a book of fiction since his whole life is and was a lie. Well, his publishing house has just gotten its eviction notice.

I think it would be fitting for everything this walking crook touches to fail. Call it the anti-Midas touch. Maybe its cold and harsh but the only news I want to hear about from Jayson Blair is his death by auto erotic asphyxiation. But then, I'm in a cold and harsh mood this morning. I hate having to leave Nande at home every day when I leave for work. I can't imagine it will get any easier when we have the baby.
