Hijacked Thursday Night

One slip and there goes the night, one slip and we get to feel the reality of the Baby.

When P left work tonight, she stumbled and took a fall with her hands full and wasn't able to protect her belly. Its funny how a simple fall can be an awful lot more. But not tonight, it took a few hours and the better part of the night but P wasn't going into labor. Not yet.

The baby is fine. We got to listen to its heartbeat for a long time, like a little outboard motor it swishes faster and slower. While our nurse was nice and cool, the midwife was kind of creepy. I felt like she was making asking questions to make sure I wasn't beating my pregnant wife. I don't know, it was just very strange. She had a sort of accusatory demeanor about her that was offputting. The super bright halogen light shining into my wife's privates wasn't helping much either.

Anyway, the end result is that she's not going into an early, early labor. Though the woman from Administration had her first baby where P is now, around 32 weeks. Her second was at 35 weeks. She had a tiny frame so it made sense but wow. Eight weeks early is a serious wake up call. Time to get things sorted out right quick!

I have a feeling that I know what we'll be doing this weekend.
