Why Bother?

I don't know why I even bother reading the tired and mindless screeds of the GOP scream corps. I read A Small Victory via Ryan earlier today and had to respond to some of the utter garbage Michele was typing out.

Stuff like there are people on The Left (and note that she puts in a disclaimer as to what she means by the Left so her stereotyping the entire Left is just fine, you know, because she put up a disclaimer) that are cheering each death of US soldiers in Iraq because it makes Bush look bad so they can point at the deaths and blame him. That people on the Left are looking forward to more terrorist attacks because they show how ineffective Bush's administration has been.

I tried to stay out of it but the post was so slanted and awful that I had to respond. And, of course, got insulted for my efforts. Belittling my intelligence is a pretty stupid way to attack me but she did so whatever. And then went on to say how she defines the Left, according to what she sees in her eyes. Even though that's a bunkum explanation.

If I saw all black people as murdering pyschopaths then it still doesn't make it a legitimate belief. Just like Michele saying that she sees three entities on the left: The Left (which she wants people to interpret as the lunatic fringe), liberals and democrats. But it isn't her place to define the demographic. Nor is it mine but it is my place to call foul when I see one.

I'd link to the post and the blog but I just don't see any point. They will have their view, I will have mine and there's really almost no point in even speaking to them because there is no flex in their beliefs.

The sole point in the post that I did agree with is that Al Qaeda isn't done, there are more attacks looming, more hate to be vented against the USA. I do hope that whoever's in the White House has the strength of character to respond properly.
