Don't Expect Much Today

This may end up being the only post I put up today since there's so much going on. I've got my annual performance review this afternoon and expect it to go well but I'm still going to get my successes worked out and listed. I don't think there will be any kind of a repeat of last year's freakish review turned ugly especially given how much further along in our coverage for the year already. But we'll see.

A couple of review links and one interesting take on how to use coupons: Employee Reviews, Preparing for a Review and NestEggz - Retirement Savings Accelerator.

I had my first appointment at the physical therapist last night and got some good news. There's only a very small chance that I have any tearing in my rotator cuff at all and the damage is most likely due to some pinched muscles and nerves on the top of my shoulder. Which means surgery is unlikely to be required and I should be able to rehab it back into shape.

And I've now begun the process of landing my second client for my new company with a third already good and lined up. I am thinking that I'll need to be balancing my client list so that I'm not wholly focused on spring and summer activities so that there's still some cash flow come fall and winter next year. While I hadn't really envisioned becoming an agent for talent, it is appearing that this is what the venture is morphing into. I think it will be prudent to also land a few regular company clients for more traditional PR and marketing but hey, for now, I'm happy as a clam with two and almost three clients in my stable already. Now all I have to do is start landing gigs for them. Though there are some intermediary steps that I'll have to get through first, like nailing down my fee schedule, working on contracts and starting to schedule time out that they are available for work since this will be side income for all of them.

By the way, David has an excellent post reflecting on the lessons that we can learn from the recent Spanish elections. Basically, converting Republicans to vote Democrat isn't the way to unseating Bush, the way to do it is to mobilize our numbers, to root out all those non-voters and get them into the booths to remove Bush. Because of his post, I will likely vollunteer time for the Kerry campaign and do all that I can to defeat ShrubCo.
