Mudding with Jay

As can easily be seen in the pic above, it was an overcast day up in the hills above Santa Cruz this weekend. Overcast, muddy, a little chill in the air and all those other components that can make for a good day out on the trails. Jay also wrote the ride up for NorCal Bikers with links to all his pics and all my pics from the ride. The vid is on the way.
Jay and I went out for a nice little ride above Delaveaga Golf Course and the Disc Golf Course in Santa Cruz, one of my all time favorite trails and I ride it more often than any other trail I know. But add some water to the game and its a whole new trail! I should have shot some pics of the roots across the trail and the drop offs it lead to, but just believe me that they were there.
By the time we got home I was pretty well mud colored from the waist down and mud speckled above. But that was half the fun of the game, why not go out and get some mud in your eyes, mouth and all over? It was cathartic and really a welcome break from the norm. Some other pics from the ride: Monster Tree Across the Trail, Jay on the trail, Me passing the toppled tree, Jay through the same section, View from the Top of the World (hole 27).

The weekend offered plenty of other good fun, some with Jay and some with Paula who came up to spend the week in Santa Cruz.
ore news and postings as time permits, Mondays are always a little wonkier than usual and we've got new staff starting today so that'll make things extra interesting, I think.
Hope everyone out there had a great weekend and fear not, I've got a whole new list of topics to blog on this week so there'll be plenty of stuff all week long.

Football News
Well the Niners sucked badly and the Steelers lost the game in overtime to a questionable call but the Raiders trouncing of the Jets almost made up for the other games. But we'll take what we can get and it was a pretty good game overall anyway.

And a Funny Pic to Start the Week Off Right
