Marketing for Morons or is it To Morons?

Here's another mini-rant for those in a hurry. What's with invisible advertising? Like on Yahoo sports, there's a few invisible fields that, if you happen to click in them, transport you off site to some garbage. Who is the marketing genius (note my sarcastic tone) who thought of this? And by what rationalization do they do this? Do they think that hijacking people will make sales? By mistake?
Like if I accidentally trip and fall on a rake and think, wow what a great rake, I think I'll go and buy one?

And these idiots have degrees in marketing?

Its not a browser issue or a platform issue either because I use Explorer on a PC at work and iCab, Omni and Explorer at home on a Mac. This is how they meant to do it and its among the dumber tactics I've come across lately, the pop-under excluded. But I suppose, in this new era of anything-goes-if-you-make-a-single-sale-from-it marketing, that they'll do just about anything to get consumers to even look at their ridiculous products.
